Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru Rural Police have arrested four persons on charges of stealing submersible water pumps and have recovered 11 submersible pumps besides seizing Rs. 18,000 cash, one Ashok Leyland goods vehicle, one Ape goods auto, one Tata Indica car, one passenger auto and one commercial LPG cylinder from them.
Those arrested are 24-year-old Jafar Sadiq alias Baba of Nehru Nagar, 35-year-old Mohammed Moiuddin alias Bihari of Raghavendranagar, 25-year-old Abdul Jameel alias PK of Bharat Nagar and Nayaz Khan alias Bengaluri of Tanveer Sait Nagar. They were arrested when the Police were conducting their morning patrol at Bharat Nagar on Thursday.
During the morning patrolling, the Police found an Ashok Leyland goods vehicle (KA-46-5438) moving around in a suspicious manner and intercepted the vehicle. When the Cops checked the vehicle, they found four submersible water pumps and on questioning those in the vehicle, the Cops came to know that the pumps were stolen and took the accused into custody.
On further questioning, the Police came to know that the accused were involved in one theft case each in Mysuru Rural, Arakere and Kavalande Police limits and two cases in T. Narasipur Police limits and three cases in Hullahalli Police limits.
Additional SP L. Nagesh guided Inspector Dr. M.L. Shekar, Sub-Inspector K.A. Chandra, Assistant Sub-Inspector Satish and staff Abdul Lathif, Bhaskar, Ashok, C.K. Mahesh, Vishwanath, Sunil Kumar and Driver Sanjay in the nabbing and seizing operation.
