Four jailed for assault, murder threat

Mysuru: The Third Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced four persons to jail for assaulting a person and threatening to murder him.

Those who are sentenced are Nagaraju, Suresh, Kumar and Channanayaka, all residents of Debur village in Nanjangud taluk.

The accused on Sept. 9, 2016 had assaulted one Ravi with a blade on Debur Road during the immersion of Ganesha idol, following which a case was registered at Nanjangud Rural Police Station.

The Police, after investigation had submitted a charge sheet to the Court. Judge S. Surendranath, who heard the arguments found the accused guilty and sentenced Nagaraju to four years imprisonment and others to three years jail term besides imposing penalty on them. Public Prosecutor Vasanthi M. Angadi, argued for the Government.
