FPAIndia conducts 10 Health Camps in flood-hit Kodagu

Mysuru: Family Planning Association of India (FPAIndia), Mysuru Branch, has conducted 10 health camps for the flood victims at Kodagu district. The health check-up focused on sexual and reproductive health issues because of the increased chances of the victims succumbing to these infections.

The camp was organised at select relief centres and villages in Kodagu district. FPAIndia is financially supported by FPAIndia Head Quarters at Mumbai.

At the free medical camp, psychological and emotional aspects of the victims were observed carefully and counselling done to encourage the people to face the situation. Dignity kit containing sanitary napkins, toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soap, panties and mosquito repellents were distributed to men and women in the camps.

Chairperson of FPAIndia Mysuru Prof. S.N. Hegde has expressed his gratitude to the District Health Officer (DHO) of Kodagu district and also to the local volunteers, health care workers and clients of the relief centres for their support.

FPAIndia has also thanked  Rotary Ivory City Mysore and District Health Officer of Mysuru district.
