A free farmers’ camp has been organised at Suttur Srikshetra from May 1 to 3, under the joint auspices of Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Mutt, Suttur Srikshetra, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Religious Endowment and JSS Mahavidyapeetha. The camp will be inaugurated by Ashok Dalwai, Chairman, Karnataka Agriculture Price Commission (KAPC), Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bengaluru. Dr. S.V. Suresha, Vice-Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru, will preside over the event. Dr. A.B. Patil, President, Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Bengaluru, will be the chief guests.
During the event, lectures on Indian agriculture and culture, integrated organic and natural farming, agricultural business management and marketing, crop diversity and mixed cropping system, export of agricultural products, will be delivered respectively by Channappa Angadi, Dr. Vitthal I. Benagi, Dr. H.A. Bindu, Dr. Nagarajappa Adivappar and H. Nagendrakumar.
A demonstration of natural farming methods has been organised at ICAR JSS Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). The camp will have daily mass prayers, yoga and meditation, indigenous games and cultural programmes.
