Mysuru: JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing and Department of ENT, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, in association with Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech and Hearing Disabilities (AYJNISHD), Mumbai, had conducted a free hearing aid distribution programme at Sri Rajendra Bhavan here recently.

Prof. Ram Parvesh Sharma, HoD, Outreach and Extension Services, Ali Yavar Jung National Institute, was the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, he said that hearing impaired persons can achieve like normal individuals, if we help them with rehabilitation and therapy after fitting the hearing aid.  Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha was the guest of honour. R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, presided. Dr. N.P. Nataraja, Director, JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, R. Suma, Principal and Aravind Surade, Medical Social Worker, AYJNISHD, were also present. More than 300 hearing aids were distributed to beneficiaries.
