Free mega eye screening camp held at MRC Eye Hospital

Mysore/Mysuru: The Turf Authorities of India had organised a Mega Free Eye Screening and Cataract Operation Camp at Mysore Race Club (MRC) Charitable Trust Eye Hospital at Siddarthanagar in city this morning.

The mega camp was inaugurated jointly by Royal Calcutta Turf Club Chairman Sudipto Sarkar, Royal Western India Turf Club Chairman Z.S. Poonawalla, Madras Race Club Chairman M.A.M.R. Muthiah, Bangalore Turf Club Chairman D. Vinod Sivappa,  Delhi Race Club (1940) President J.S. Bedi and MRC Charitable Trust and Turf Authorities of India Chairman Dr. N. Nithyananda Rao.

Over 200 needy persons underwent free eye check-up till 12.30 pm, out of which 50 persons were found to be in need of surgical proceedures and will be operated tomorrow at the hospital free of cost. Four eye surgeons will be rendering their services at MRC Eye Hospital tomorrow. 

MRC Eye Hospital Committee Chairman and former MRC Chairman Dr. C. D. Sreenivasa Murthy and others were present.
