Free vaccination for scribes at Gopala Gowda Hospital

Mysore/Mysuru: A free COVID-19 vaccination camp was held for members of Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) at Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital in Nazarbad this morning.

The camp was jointly organised by MDJA, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), District Administration and MAHAN. As many as 35 journalists had taken the jab by 1 pm. 

Dr. H.V. Santhrupth, General Surgeon, Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital, launched the camp by vaccinating a scribe. 

Dr. D.G. Nagaraj, Health Officer, MCC, S.T. Ravikumar, President, MDJA and Subramanya, Secretary, MDJA, R. Raju, Assistant Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nagaraj said that journalists were functioning like frontline workers since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 risking their lives. It was happy to note that a large number of scribes turned up this morning to take the jab.
