Friendly Enforcement Drive by Traffic Police to create awareness among violators

Mysuru: The City Traffic Police Department embarked on a friendly checking   drive to educate the vehicle drivers to follow the road rules. The drive titled ‘Operation Cheetah,’ organised by the Traffic Police and Law and Order Police was launched yesterday. This special Friendly Enforcement Drive was held between 12 noon and 2.30 pm.

Cops from all the Police Stations in the city panned out in prominent localities of city and checked all the vehicle drivers violating traffic rules.

Instead of filing cases or imposing fines on the offenders, the Police in a friendly manner advised them to follow traffic rules and to carry all necessary documents. They spoke to the riders about the importance of wearing helmets.

The aim of ‘Operation Cheetah’ (Friendly Enforcement) is to bring about awareness among 3,000 vehicle riders. Crime and Traffic DCP Dr. Vikram Amathe led the drive.

Police Commissioner Dr. A.S. Rao has lauded the effort of the Police Department, according to press release from the Police Commissioner’s Office.
