Mysore/Mysuru: Fusion 2026: The Power of Multidisciplinary Knowledge and Innovation, a one-day International Conference was organised by St. Joseph’s First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysuru in association with IQAC recently.
Dr. D.S. Guru, Senior Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Mysore, inaugurated and appreciated the relevance of multidisciplinary knowledge in contemporary times.
Dr. Guru advised the journalists and delegates to increase their knowledge by questioning any subject. He said that in order to become an excellent personality, one should absorb and adapt with everyone.
Rev. Father Edward William Saldanha, Hon. Secretary of MDES, in his presidential address explained multidisciplinary knowledge is essential because it boosts career opportunities. Similarly, it will help in solving complex problems in the real world.
Two technical sessions
The first session, titled “New-Age Skill Imperatives for a Sustainable Future in the High-Tech Era,” was delivered by Dr. B. Venkatraja, Associate Professor of Economics at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysuru.
The second session, “AI in Education: Personalised and Lifelong Learning,” was presented by Dr. Sonai Singaram Jeyaraj, Faculty of Accounting & Finance at Sino-British College, Guangxi Minzu University, China, affiliated with the University of Staffordshire, UK.
The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, Hon. Secretary of MDES, Rev. Fr. A. Naveen Kumar, Hon. Treasurer of MDES, Seby Mavely, Chief Executive Officer of Training and Development, Dr. H.N. Chandrashekhar, Principal and K.S. Nayana, IQAC Coordinator.
