Gambling: 27 persons arrested; Rs. 3,15,470 stake money seized

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, the City Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested a total of 27 persons who were found gambling in Vidyaranyapuram and Alanahalli Police limits and have seized a total of Rs. 3,15,470, which was on stake.

In the first case, the CCB Police and Vidyaranyapuram Police, on May 4, arrested 18 persons who were found gambling (Andar Bahar) behind a school in Srirampura 2nd Stage, coming under Vidyaranyapuram Police limits and have seized a total of Rs. 2,02,720, which was put on stake.

A case has been registered at Vidyaranyapuram Police.

In the second case, the CCB Police and Alanahalli Police, following information that a few persons were gambling in a vacant place, next to Water Tank Road near Chowdeshwari Temple in Alanahalli Police limits on May 5, raided the place and arrested nine persons who were indulged in gambling besides seizing a stake money of Rs. 1,12,750.

A case has been registered at Alanahalli Police Station.
