Ganapathy Swamiji cuts 120 ft. long birthday cake

CAKE PRASADAM: Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji celebrated his 75th birthday, as part of Vajrotsava, by cutting a 120 ft. long, 3 ft. wide cake weighing 1,500 kgs. The letters SGS 8 ft. in length and 4 ft. wide, with two peacocks on either side decorated the long cake. The other attraction that adorned the cake was 108 padas and 108 deepas. The eggless, vegetarian cake was baked by a 50-member team, Shashi Group Bakers, from Tenali near Hyderabad, who offered it to the Swamiji as a token of love and devotion. The Swamiji also walked on the sajjappa (a sweet delicacy) spread from his abode to Poundrika Rangasthala where the cake was displayed. Swamiji cut the cake in the presence of a large number of devotees at 8 am today in the Ashrama premises on Ooty Road here. It was distributed to all his devotees and even children and people from the areas surrounding the Ashrama partook of the delicious cake.
