Gang-rape case: One more accused arrested

Mysuru: Kuvempunagar Police have arrested one more person in connection with the gang-rape incident that took place at Lingambudhi Palya on city outskirts on May 8 night.

The arrested is identified as 20-year-old Sanjay. The Police have arrested a total of six persons in this regard.

Those who have been arrested so far are 23-year-old Surya Kumar, 23-year-old Madhu, 21-year-old Prashanth, 25-year-old Karthik Kumar and 25-year-old Jeevan.

It is learnt that a total of eight men were involved in the gang-rape and the Police, who have arrested six accused have launched a hunt to nab two others.

It may be recalled that the woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men in a drunken stupor on the night of May 8. Before committing the crime, the gang brutally assaulted the woman’s friend Shivasiddappa and broke one of his legs.

They had assaulted him with lethal weapons, following which he was admitted to a hospital.
