Gangothri students protest murder of Engineering student in Raichur

Mysuru: Hundreds of Manasagangothri students under the banner of “Mysuru Vishwa Vidyanilaya Samshodhakara Sangha” (University of Mysore Research Students Association) staged a protest in front of the Round Canteen in Gangothri campus here this morning against the alleged brutal killing of Madhu Pattar, an engineering girl student at Raichur recently.

Terming the brutal murder of Madhu as a barbaric act, the protestors demanded the arrest of all those who were behind her brutal killing. They also urged that the guilty be given harsh punishment.

The protestors  strongly condemned rising attacks on Dalit groups in Tamil Nadu and the Easter Sunday Church bomb blasts in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which left over 300 killed and scores of others  injured.

Prof. B.P. Maheshchandra Guru, Prof. Mamatha, Association office-bearers Mahesh Soale, D. Mahadevaswamy Mangala and others took part.

In another protest, nearly 30 members of Karnataka Janapara Vedike staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square this morning in protest against the alleged murder of Madhu. Demanding that all those behind the heinous act be looked and awarded stringent punishment, the protestors  strongly condemned rising crimes in the State. Vedike office-bearers Somegowda, B.D. Ningappa, Honnegowda, P. Manju and others took part.
