Garbage all along roadside in Bogadi

Sir,

It appears that garbage from within city limits is increasingly being dumped along roads leading to smaller towns. While highways remain relatively clean, these interior roads have turned into virtual dumping grounds.

The scale of the problem is far worse than what photographs can capture. A one-kilometre stretch of the Bogadi-Gaddige Main Road itself is lined with waste on one side, and the situation is no different on the other side. Similar scenes can be witnessed along other arterial roads as well.

Residents have questioned whether the Mysuru City Corporation has an effective garbage disposal strategy in place.

They point out that waste segregation at the household level has become meaningless, as dry, wet, hazardous and sanitary waste are often mixed again during collection.
