I wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned and fellow citizens to the growing menace of garbage dumping on a vacant plot in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru.

Earlier, garbage dumped along the roadside was removed by the MCC Pourakarmikas. However, it appears that the waste has now been shifted and dumped on an adjacent vacant plot.

This has unfortunately encouraged some people to continue dumping household waste, old mattresses and other debris at the same location.

The situation has become an eyesore and poses a serious health hazard to nearby residents. The enclosed photograph clearly shows the deplorable condition of the vacant site.

I appeal to the civic authorities to take immediate steps to clear the garbage and put up warning boards or fencing to prevent further dumping. The co-operation of citizens in maintaining cleanliness and civic responsibility is also earnestly requested.
