‘Gene Vruththantha,’ ‘Gene Therapy’ books released

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of University of Mysore (UoM) Prof. K.S. Rangappa released two books titled ‘Gene Vruththantha’ and ‘Gene Therapy’, authored by Science writer Sathanur Devaraj, in city recently.

The books were released at a programme organised by Spandana Samskrithika Parishat and Akhila Karnataka Lekhakara Mathu Prakashakara Sangha at The Institution of Engineers (IEI) auditorium on JLB Road in city.

The former VC said, “The books are written in a brief and clearly expressed manner and can be even read by a common man. There cannot be a world without science and if one becomes aware of science, they can find cure for many diseases. Though nobody can fully understand cancer, it can be treated through gene therapy.  Attempts are made in the book to inform people about new subjects. Author Sathanur Devaraj is a hidden talent.”

Writer and folk expert Dr. Ramegowda, President of Spandana Samskrithika Parishat Satish Javaregowda, JSS Medical College’s Prof. Dr. Prasanna Santhe Kadur, lecturer of Maharani’s Government PU College Dr. A.N. Santosh, former Syndicate Member of University of Mysore Dr. E.C. Ningaraj,  President of Akhila Karnataka Lekhakara Mathu Prakashakara Sangha D. N. Lokappa and Mahima Publications Publisher K. V. Srinivas were present.
