General health screening & menstrual hygiene camp at Balamandira

Mysore/Mysuru: A general health screening and menstrual health awareness camp was conducted at Government Girls Balamandira in city on June 4.

Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central in association with Mysore Adolescent Health Academy (MAHA) and Asha Kirana Hospital conducted the camp. In all,  60 children underwent general health check-up and menstrual hygiene screening. 

Kavita Vinod & Lakshmi Arun, Incoming President & Secretary – Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central (respectively), Dr. S.N. Mothi, K.S. Gururaja, Dr. Srirama, Dr. Sagarika, Chairman, Trustee, Medical Officers, Asha Kirana Hospital (respectively), Dr. S. Diwakar, District Child Protection Officer, Leelavathi, Retd. Superintendent, Yashoda, Professional Officer, Anusuya, House Mother, Balamandira were present during the inaugural ceremony. 

In his speech, Dr. Mothi has assured to provide free monthly primary health care services to the kids of Balamandira.

Inner Wheel Central donated 60 pairs of slippers for the children sponsored by Uttam Rubbers Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Sagarika distributed 50 sanitary pad kits (each kit containing 7 pads with a savlon soap) and also educated the teens about the proper disposal of sanitary pads on behalf of Reachout India’s menstrual health drive. 

Dr. S.N. Mothi and K.S. Gururaja donated Multivitamin Syrups, Vitamin A and Deworming tablets to all the children, according to a press release.
