German technology pandal for  PM’s Ujire visit: A clarification

Dharmasthala: A specially erected huge pandal was installed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ujire near here on Oct. 29, using German Technology. The pandal was provided by Bengaluru’s Udupa Enterprises, clarified its Managing Partner Vasudeva Udupa.

Reacting to a report published in Star of Mysore dated Oct. 28 under the title “German technology Mysuru pandal for PM’s Dharmasthala visit tomorrow,” Udupa said that the report that this pandal with German technology was provided by Shariff Furniture is not correct.

“The Srikshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development programme, Dharmasthala Unit, had entrusted the work of pitching the pandal for PM’s visit to Ujire to us. We had used the German technology for the pandal,” said Udupa.

Meanwhile, since they were short of a few equipment, they had got it from Mysuru’s Shariff Furniture. “However, only our company was given the full contract of pitching the pandal,”  Udupa clarified.

It may be recalled that the pandal incorporating the German technology was a massive 130 ft X 300 ft one, which could accommodate nearly 50,000 people. Even if it rained heavily, not a drop would percolate and drench the audience, as it was waterproof.
