Giraffe Yuvaraja dies at Mysuru Zoo

Mysore/Mysuru: Yuvaraja, a male giraffe, aged about 25 years died at about 10.30 am yesterday due to senility at the Zoo. He was one of the major attractions at Mysuru Zoo.

Born on Dec. 7, 2001 to Henry and Honey, which were brought from Germany in 1987, Yuvaraja was hand reared by the animal keepers and was the longest-lived giraffe in Mysuru Zoo.

 Henry and Honey had given birth to nine calves including Krishnaraja, Chamaraja, Narasimharaja and Yuvaraja. Yuvaraja was the ninth calf born to Henry and Honey pair.
