Girijana Ashram School student dies of brain haemorrhage

Hunsur: A student died of brain haemorrhage at Nagapura Girijana Ashram School in the taluk on Mar. 4.

The deceased student is Surya (14), son of Jagannath and Lakshmamma couple of Dongri Gerasiya community and residing at Shankarapura Tribal Hamlet near Kallurappa Betta close to Hanagod in the taluk.

On Mar. 4, students were having a hair cut in the School premises and even Surya had come for a hair cut during which he went dizzy and vomited following which he was provided first-aid. After some time, Surya again vomited and School Head Master Lakshman immediately admitted him at Hunsur Government Hospital.

Following suggestions from the doctors, a scanning was done at Cauvery Hospital and based on the advice from the doctors, Surya was admitted to Cheluvamba Hospital in Mysuru, where he breathed his last in midnight.

Meanwhile, Taluk Scheduled Tribe Welfare Officer Gangadhar said that the doctors informed that Surya had died of brain haemorrhage. Surya has been studying in this School from 1st standard and his brother Manjunath too is studying in the same school.

A case has been registered at Hunsur Rural Police Station.
