Mysuru: As part of Gita Jayanti celebrations, city-based Srikantha Vidya Samsthe has organised Bhagavad Gita recitation competition for students on Dec. 9 at 10 am at its premises. The competition will be conducted for Lower Primary, Higher Primary and High School categories.
The participants have to recite slokas of 13th chapter of Bhagavad Gita on ‘Kshetra Kshetragna Vibagayoga’ with meaning, but it is not applicable to Lower Primary school students. Those participating in Lower Primary School category will have to recite Slokas 1 to 6; Slokas 7 to 13 for Higher Primary School and Slokas 14 to 20 for High School students.
Essay competition: Srikantha School will also conduct an essay competition on first ten Slokas of Srimad Valmiki Ramayana. The topic for high school students will ‘Shraddatreyavibhagayoga.’ Students must write this essay in two pages.
Singing competition
The same school has also organised singing competition on any one works of Purandaradasa or Kanakadasa. Each student can participate in at least four competitions.
