Mysore/Mysuru: Libraries must be given importance similar to temples, said Kannada Book Authority Chairman Dr. Manasa after inaugurating ‘Manegondu Granthalaya’ (One library for every house) at Mysore Art Gallery on Ramanuja Road here recently. He said, a library in every household will enhance the knowledge of residents.
“Kannada Book Authority aims to open library in every house to increase the number of book- lovers. Very soon libraries will be opened at one lakh houses to reach one crore people. It is also important to open libraries in every school and college which would help children enhance their knowledge,” he added.
Former Kannada and Culture Deputy Director M.G. Sadanandaiah, ‘Manegondu Granthalaya’ Zilla Jagruthi Samithi Convenor M. Chandrashekar, Gallery Founder L. Shivalingappa and others were present.
