Mysore/Mysuru: The Global Convention of University of Mysore Alumni Association (UMAA) will take place at Rani Bahadur Auditorium on Hunsur road at  4 pm tomorrow (Nov.26).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Association President Dr. Vasanth Kumar Thimakapura said that Retired High Court Judge Justice A.J. Sadashiva, University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, member of erstwhile Royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and UoM Registrar Prof. R. Shivappa will be the chief guests at the meet. UoM alumni who have excelled in their chosen field will be conferred with ‘Distinguished Alumnus’ award. They are: Padma Shri Dr. V. Prakash (Science and Technology), Prof. K. Chidanandagowda (Administration), Dr. C.L. Lakshmipathigowda (Agricultural Science), Dr. C.D. Sreenivasa Murthy (Medical), Prof. D.V. Ravishankar (Literature), Ravikumar Joshi (Foreign Service),  Abbas S. Vagh (Industry) and  H.R. Leelavathi (Music and Arts). Prof. K.T. Veerappa, Prof. R.N. Padmanabha and Reginald Wesley were present at the press meet.
