‘Godown to come up in Mysuru APMC soon to store millets’

Kannada Utsava-2017 at Akashavani Mysuru

Mysuru: ‘Kannada Utsava-2017’ was organised at Akashavani Mysuru premises yesterday to mark Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. Akashavani Divisional Engineer Suresh Bhatia hoisted the Kannada Flag following which the staff rendered Naade Geethe.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Listener Manorama of Jayalakshmipuram remembered the days of her listening to Akashavani as a young girl and added that she still loved to tune-in to the Station and enjoy few programmes despite her old age.   

Later, speaking during the interaction on ‘Benefits of Organic Food’ organised as part of the celebrations, Ramesh P. Rangasamudra, President, Federation of Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar Districts Regional Co-operative Organic Farmers Associations, said that consuming organic food was everybody’s right and the Association was buying 30 items including rice, ragi and jaggery, grown under organic farming.

He also informed that a godown will come up in the Mysuru APMC premises soon to store the millets produced in Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts and added that the Association Director was trying the best to make sure that the benefits reached all the customers in the State in the coming days.

Also, an expo of organic products was organised in the premises. Later in the evening, Sri Veerabhadreshwara Art Troupe presented Veerabhadra Kunita and another folk troupe presented Dollu Kunita.
