Gold chain snatched at J.P. Nagar

Mysore/Mysuru: Bike-borne miscreants have snatched a gold chain from a 39-year-old woman at J.P. Nagar yesterday.

The woman, who lost her gold chain, is Mamatha, wife of Sanjeevamurthy and residing at J.P. Nagar. Yesterday afternoon at about 12.45, Mamatha was walking towards her mother’s house at Siddalingeshwara Layout, adjacent to J.P. Nagar, when two miscreants wearing face mask, who came on a Yamaha Crux bike, snatched her 55 grams gold chain and sped away.

Though a person chased the bike in his car and hit the bike near a petty shop at Siddalingeshwara Layout and made the riders fall from the bike, the miscreants brandished a machete, threatened the car driver and fled from the spot.

Vidyaranyapuram Police informed the incident over the walkie-talkie and launched a hunt to nab the miscreants but in vain. Meanwhile, the Police personnel from all Police Stations, conducted checking and kept a hawk eye vigil over those riding Yamaha Crux bike, but could not trace the miscreants.
