Gold mangalya pendant snatched in city

Mysuru: After a brief lull, miscreants who had snatched a part of a gold chain from a woman who was riding pillion on a bike, a miscreant on Sunday night has snatched a imitation jewellery chain to which a gold mangalya pendant (Thaali) was attached, from a woman in K.R. Police Station limits.

The woman, who lost her mangalya pendant, has been identified as 42-year-old Nagamma, a resident of 10th Cross in Sunnadakeri here.

It is reported that Nagamma at about 8 pm had gone to a shop on Vani Vilas Road to buy curds and was on her way back. When she took the road leading to Siddapaji Temple in Sunnadakeri, a bike-borne miscreant, who came from behind, snatched the chain to which the gold mangalya pendant weighing about eight grams was attached and sped away.

K.R. Police, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, conducted a search but in vain. They later registered a case and are investigating.
