Golden Jubilee of Kabini Dam on grand scale: MLA

Mysore/Mysuru: Kabini Dam in HD Kote taluk in the district has completed 50 years of its inception, which will be celebrated on a grand scale, said H.D. Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu.

He was speaking to media during his recent visit to Kabini Dam at Beechanahalli, which has reached its maximum level.

“With Kabini Dam brimming, the schedule of the programme to offer bagina to the river will be fixed, after discussing with Chief Minister Siddharamaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar,” he added.

 While the arrangements related to the celebration of Golden Jubilee Year of the Dam will be discussed with the Officers, it is being mulled to celebrate the occasion on the lines of Jalapathotsava. It will be a three-day celebration involving  prominent film actors and artistes. The achievers and those instrumental in building the Dam will be felicitated on the occasion. The Dam will also be illuminated to make the event memorable and all the arrangements will be made for the benefit of tourists from various parts of the district and also State, added the MLA.

Chief Engineers Ramesh Babu and Vishwanath, Executive Engineers of Kabini Chandrashekar and Janardhan, Gaugeman Nagaraju, Councillors H.C. Narasimha Murthy and Raju, Vice-President of Jaya Karnataka Satish Gowda, former Zilla Panchayat Member Chikkaveera Nayaka, President of Youth Congress Nayaz, Member of District Congress Committee Parashivamurthy, Gram Panchayat Member Beechanahalli Bhaskar and others were present.
