Bengaluru: Ravindra Bhat, Managing Editor of Prajavani Newspaper, has been selected for the ‘Gommata Media Award’ presented by the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ).
The award is given in recognition of his three-decade service in the field of journalism. The Gommata Media Award has been instituted by Sri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Shravanabelagola Mutt. The award which carries a citation and Rs. 10,000 will be presented to him at KUWJ Endowment Fund Award ceremony which will be held in Mysuru later this month.

Ravindra Bhat, born in 1967, hails from Siddapura taluk in Uttara Kannada District. He completed his MA in Mass Communication and Journalism from Karnatak University, Dharwad. He started his career in 1990 as a reporter in Samyukta Karnataka and later served in various newspapers and joined Prajavani in 1995. He is also recipient of several awards presented by various Journalists Associations, organisations.
