LED streetlights are being provided in Mysuru by replacing old type tubelights and sodium lights in city. Now the LED light illumination is very good and better than earlier system.
These lights cover more area on the Road. It seems they have used 10 watts LED bulbs in place of 40 watts tubelight and similarly MV lamp bulb by very low watt bright LED bulb of 50 watts.
By this arrangement, electrical energy is saved by more than 60 to 70%. This scheme is a very good initiative in saving energy.
In addition, the MCC has introduced automatic timer operated switching equipment for on and off of streetlight circuits. These circuits were earlier operated manually, causing additional expenses. More such initiative is expected from MCC in all works.
