Government ITIs get better infrastructure

MLC Marithibbegowda, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council, is seen lighting the lamp to inaugurate the newly-constructed library building at Government ITI in NR Mohalla here on Saturday as others look on.

Mysuru – “The Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are being provided with good infrastructure to enable economically backward students acquire good industrial training,” said Marithibbegowda, Deputy Chairman, Legislative Council.

He was speaking after inaugurating the newly-constructed library building at the premises of Government ITI in NR Mohalla here on Saturday.

The library has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 lakh utilising the Legislator’s grant.

MLC Marithibbegowda said that the government with Central assistance had started about 100 ITIs over the last two years to help poor  students. He advised the students to acquire knowledge and venture into self-employment. He lauded the ITI in city as being the topmost in the State with over 1,500 students receiving industrial training and added that a few alumni of the institute have reached good positions in industry.

On the occasion, Marithibbegowda was felicitated. Om Sri Sai Trust Managing Trustee Raniprabha was the chief guest.

ITI Principal K.C. Ravishankar, Vice-Principal M. Jayendra, Advocate D.B. Rajashekar Murthy, CESC AEE P. Chikkasiddegowda and others were present.
