‘Hasiru Kankana’ scheme to distribute 16 lakh saplings
Mysore/Mysuru: The State Government is seriously thinking of waiving loan of borrowers from the Karnataka State Co-operative Apex Bank who died of COVID-19 pandemic, said Co-Operation and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar.
He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Raitha Spandana’, a programme jointly organised by Mysuru and Chamarajanagar District Co-Operative Central (MCDCC) Bank and Mysore Dist.Co-op.Milk Producers’ Societies’ Union (MyMUL) and launching of ‘Hasiru Kankana’ scheme to distribute 16 lakh saplings at KSOU Convocation Hall here on Tuesday.
The Minister said Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa was mulling waiver of loan taken by Corona victims. Modalities are still being worked out. A final decision will be taken soon. The disbursal and repayment of loan has been very good. While loan disbursement was 114 percent, rate of recovery was around 95 percent. There are 21 District Co-operative Central Bank in the State and all of them are doing well.
The CM has issued directions to disburse Rs. 20,810 crore to 30 lakh farmers in the State. Problems pertaining to Shivamogga District Co-operative Central Bank have been addressed by changing officers.
Somashekar said, as part of ‘Hasiru Kankana’ programme, 80,000 members of 275 PLD Banks will be will be distributed 20 saplings each.
