Government sets up Agri War Room Helplines for farmers

Agritourism will have a positive impact on farmers as their source of income will increase.

Bengaluru: In a bid to help the farming community  during COVID Curfew, the Agriculture Department has revived the Agri War Room, with the launch of two Helplines – 080- 22210237 and 22212818.

The Agri War Room will help the farmers by giving useful suggestions on carrying out agricultural activities, equipment availability, fertilizer and other inputs supplies  and transportation of Agri produce to markets  during the COVID Curfew and in other critical  periods.

The War Room will function from 8 am till 8 pm on all days and will be handled by three officials.

The Government had set up the Agri War Room last year too, when COVID-19 broke out. Then this War Room had helped farmers in achieving  a  record 106 percent of sowing even during the critical period.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil said that this War Room will act as a communication bridge between the Department and the farming community during this critical period, when the entire country is engaged in battling the Coronavirus.
