Mysore/Mysuru: Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot launched the 75th Foundation Day celebrations of Karnataka Journalists Co-operative Society at Bengaluru recently.
Gehlot said that journalists are the fourth pillar of the Constitution and called upon the Society members to work further for the betterment of scribes.
Lauding them for working towards rendering justice to everyone in society, he said that this Co-operative Society seems to be the only one in the country which has been established for the welfare of journalists.
Society President Ramesh Palya apprised the Governor on the activities of the Society.
The Governor was presented with a portrait of his drawn by Cartoonist Gujjarappa and Senior Photographer Vishwanath Suvarna’s pictorial book on Karnataka. Society Vice-President Doddabommaiah, Treasurer Mohan Kumar, Secretary Kemparaju, Directors M.S. Rajendrakumar, Vinod Kumar B. Nayak, Ramesh Hirejambur, Dhyan Poonacha, S. Nayana, N. Vanitha and P.S. Krishnakumar, Society staff Hemanth Kumar, Anita Jois, Anand and others were present.
