GP employees stage protest

Mysuru: Seeking fulfilment of their various demands, more than 100 Gram Panchayat (GP) employees under the banner of CITU-affiliated Karnataka State Gram Panchayat Employees Association, staged a demonstration in front of ZP office here yesterday.

The demands include implementation of Swamy Report which has recommended uniform regularisation of service of all GP employees, payment of wage dues, pension benefits, opening of service register, promotions and statutory benefits such as ESI, PF, gratuity etc.

Earlier, the GP employees marched in a procession from Gun House Circle passing through Chamaraja Double Road (100ft. Road) and Ramaswamy Circle to reach the ZP Office.

Association State President Maruthi Manpade, office-bearers K. Basavaraj, Lokesh Kirujaji, T.S. Dinesh and others took part.
