Graduates’ Day celebrated at JSS College

Post Graduate (PG) and Under Graduate (UG) toppers of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, seen with the dignitaries.

Mysuru: The  10th Graduates’ Day was celebrated at JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, B.N. Road, here recently.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji  graced the occasion. Dr. C. G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha administered the oath to the graduates.

Dr. R. Ramanan, Director, Atal Innovation Mission, Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog, delivering the Graduation Day address spoke inspiringly about the importance of setting a target in student’s life. He said faith in oneself only makes the man to succeed in life.

He defined DREAM as the capability of oneself to dare to realise, to expect the unexpected which could be achieved by putting into action, following moral ethics to meet one’s commitments. He defined life is all about changing and emphasised societal obligation on the part of everyone in the society.

A total of 751 Graduates and Post-Graduates were present. Of these 33 PGs and 21 Graduate toppers received mementos and cash prizes from the dignitaries.

College Chief Executive Officer Prof. B. V. Sambashivaiah  welcomed. Principal Prof. M. Mahadevappa proposed a vote of thanks. Invocation was by Lasya, a final year M.Sc. Biochemistry student.  

Prof. T. D. Subbanna, Director, College Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mallikarjuna, Director – II, General Development Division, Controller of Examinations, staff and students along with their parents were present  at the programme.
