Mysore/Mysuru: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus, celebrated its Graduation Day at its premises in Bogadi II Stage recently.
Swami Amritageetananda Puri, in his benedictory address said, “After their graduation most of the students prefer going to developed countries like US for their higher studies and jobs. But there are achievers who returned from the developed countries to India with the utmost intention of serving our society. Students should consider such achievers as their role models and have to attain something great in the motherland.”
Speaking about the knowledge he stated that, science and technology is very necessary for development. But at the same time, they make us so dependent that we cannot do anything without them. So, we should focus on spirituality which in turn will help us to shape our own life. If we want a perfect life, then there should be balance between spirituality and science – technology, he added.
Dr. Niranjana Vanalli, Vice- Chancellor, Bengaluru North University, who delivered the convocation address, said “There will be light at the end of the dark tunnel; and the life after COVID proved it. During pandemic the student fraternity had to face lots of challenges. But now the same student group has various opportunities in front of them. Young graduates can prove themselves with their uniqueness and specialities. Acceptance of new challenges, new things will make a person very successful in his life.”
H.V. Rajeev, Chairman, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), who was the guest of honour, also addressed the students.
In all, 923 qualified students of the academic year 2020 and 2021 received their degrees.
Prof. Shantikumar Nair, Dean, Centre for Nano Sciences and Molecular Medicine; Prof. U. Krishnakumar, Dean, School of Arts, Humanities and Commerce; Dr. R. Dandapani, Controller of Examinations; Br. Anantaananda Chaitanya, Director, Mysuru Campus; Br. Muktidamrta Chaitanya, Correspondent; Dr. G. Ravindranath and others were present on the occasion.
After the graduation ceremony, more than 500 old students attended the Alumni Meet which was conducted by Old Students’ Association.
