Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha has organised an online vocal concert by senior vocalist of Mysuru, Vidu. Koviladi R. Kala, as part of its weekly online concert series. The concert will be premièred on its YouTube channel at 5 pm on Sept. 19.
Vidushi Kala was mentored by her father ‘Haridasa Sahitya Gana Ratna,’ late Vidwan Koviladi K. Rangarajan, one of the leading Vidwans of Tamil Nadu during his time. She has graduated herself in Music from the Madras University, and is a graded artiste of AIR, regularly performing in AIR and Doordarshan since 1984.
She has the credit of presenting concerts in AIR South Zone hook-ups, TTD, Mysuru Dasara and in many reputed Sabhas.
She is the co-ordinator of city’s ‘RAAGA’ Music Academy, regular faculty of Ganabharathi Music School, visiting faculty for MA (Music) students of KSOU etc. She is an eminent teacher and trains students for Senior and Vidwat grades. She has been honoured by several Music Sabhas.
She will be supported by senior artistes Vid. C.N. Thyagaraju on violin, Vid. Tumkur B. Ravishankar on mridanga and Vid. G.S. Ramanujan on ghata.
