Grandfather, grandson thrash kin over petty issue

Mysuru: A man and his grandson, allegedly thrashed a man for petty reasons in the premises of Akkana Balaga School here yesterday while the public recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

While the man, who was thrashed has been identified as Prakash, a resident of Tilaknagar here, the persons who assaulted him have been identified as Srinivas, Director of Backward Classes Multi-purpose Co-operative Society and his grandson. Prakash and Srinivas are said to be brothers.

Yesterday, Srinivas was chairing the Annual General Body Meeting of the Co-operative Society at Ursu Mandali premises when Prakash barged into the meeting and demanded membership to him besides shouting at Srinivas.

Angered over this, Srinivas questioned Prakash and asked him how did he come to the meeting, when he was not a member. Soon, wordy duel ensued between them resulting in both of them exchanging blows.

Srinivas was soon joined by his daughter and grandson who joined together and thrashed Prakash, who sustained minor injuries.

K.R. Police, who rushed to the spot, took Srinivas and his grandson to the Police Station and questioned them.

Meanwhile, Prakash, who has lodged a complaint with K.R. Police, has stated in the complaint that he was assaulted by Srinivas, his (Srinivas) daughter Shalini and Srinivas’ grandson Vishal and has urged the Police to take action against them.
