Mysuru: Unable to bear the demises of his only son, who breathed his last due to illness on Saturday, the grieving father, who was preparing for the last rites of his son, died on Sunday at Belavadi village in the outskirts of city.
While the deceased son has been identified as Bhyra (33), the grieving father, who died while preparing for the last rites of his son, has been identified as Puttegowda (68), residents of Belavadi village.
Puttegowda, who had three daughters and a son, had married his daughters and was looking for a bride to his son Bhyra. In the meantime, Bhyra fell ill and despite consulting various doctors, his (Bhyra) health did not improve.
As the sickness escalated, Bhyra passed away on Saturday night and his father Puttegowda was preparing to perform his last rites on Sunday for which his relatives, friends and villagers had come. While the body of Bhyra was being taken to the cremation grounds, Puttegowda suddenly fell ill and some of his relatives took him to a hospital while the rest took the body of Bhyra to the cremation grounds for the last rites.
A sudden shock awaited those in the cremation grounds as the news about Puttegowda breathing his last reached them. Puttegowda’s wife and three daughters, who were yet to recover from the shock of the death of Bhyra, were inconsolable.
Meanwhile, the village elders began to prepare for the last rites of Puttegowda and the last rites of both Bhyra and Puttegowda were performed together.
