GSSS bags Best Accredited Student Branch Award for second consecutive time

Mysuru: GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru was, awarded the ‘Best Accredited Student Branch Award’ for the second consecutive year by the Computer Society of India (CSI) Awards Committee- 2017.

This award was received by Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, Dr. S. Meenakshi Sundaram, Professor & Head, Department of CSE (Computer Science and Engineering), GSSSIETW, Dr. Reshma Banu, Professor & Head, Department of ISE (Information Science and Engineering), GSSSIETW, at the valedictory function of the one-day seminar on ‘Indian Language Computing’ held on Mar.27 at SJCE, Mysuru.

This event was jointly organised by CSI Mysore Chapter and SJCE Mysuru. The CSI Awards Committee-2017 was chaired by Dr. Anirban Basu, Chairman, CSI. The award was conferred at the CSI Annual Convention 2017 held in the month of January at Science City, Kolkata.

CSI announces this award annually based on the quality innovation, impact and societal relevance of various technical and professional activities such as conferences, contests, workshops and community engagement activities.

GSSSIETW is the only Women’s Engineering College among all engineering colleges in Mysuru to have received this prestigious award for the second consecutive time.

GSSSIETW has encouraged the students to demonstrate technical competence in the fields of information innovations with substantial fundamental technical skills aiming the career in research and development.

The College has conducted many technical talks, workshops, coding contests, hackathons which has provided a great platform for women engineering students to apply the knowledge of engineering fundamentals and computing to solve problems related to engineering and technology.
