GTD urges Byrathi to provide basic amenities to MUDA-approved private layouts

Mysore/Mysuru: Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Devegowda has urged Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj to provide basic amenities to MUDA-approved private layouts situated adjacent to Ring Road in city.

In a memorandum submitted to the Minister, he said residents of MUDA-approved layouts were facing problems due to outflow of water from the septic tank on roads. This was happening since the tanks are of very small size. The Underground Drainage facility must be provided in these layouts. Need of the hour was to provide basic facilities to private layouts, he added.

Devegowda said that the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities say that Vijayanagar 3rd Stage does not come under the Corporation limits. That area must be brought under the Corporation limits and provide drinking water, roads, UGD, streetlight and maintain it. Though Private Layouts paid the electricity and the water connection charges, still those layouts do not have basic facilities.

The MLA said that the city was getting sufficient quantity of water from the river sources but its distribution was not happening as per expectations. A company that had bagged tender to implement a drinking water scheme under JNNURM scheme, totally spoilt it. Hence, officers must be very careful and ensure that no part of the city faces drinking water shortage.

Byrathi Basavaraj and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar instructed the MCC officers to take necessary action in this regard immediately.
