Guilty MUDA staff will face action: Dr. Yathindra

Mysuru: Urban Development Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah has assured that officials and staff found guilty in the erstwhile Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), now Mysuru Development Authority, site allotment scam will face disciplinary action as per law.

Replying to questions raised in the Legislative Assembly by K.R. Constituency MLA T.S. Srivatsa on irregularities in MUDA’s site allotments, the Minister said a one-member Judicial Commission headed by retired judge P.N. Desai had submitted its inquiry report to the Government on July 30. The report has since been placed before the Cabinet.

Dr. Yathindra said a high-level technical committee, headed by the Commissioner of the Directorate of Town and Country Planning and comprising MUDA officials, has been constituted to examine the Desai Commission’s findings in detail. The committee will submit its recommendations to the Government on the action to be taken based on the report.

“Once the high-level committee submits its findings, the Government will initiate disciplinary proceedings against the officials and staff involved in the irregularities, strictly in accordance with the rules,” the Minister said.
