H.P. Subbarao Shendige (73), former Municipal Councillor and a senior BJP activist, passed away yesterday in the town.

He leaves behind his wife Lakshmi Rao, two daughters, grand-children and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held in the town this afternoon, according to family sources.
