Half of candidates fail to appear for KPSC written exam

Mysore/Mysuru: Though there is a tough competition for most of KPSC exams with a big number of candidates appearing for the written test for a few number of posts available in Government  Departments, it seems that candidates are showing less interest for electrical jobs.

The two-day written exam conducted by the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) on June 3 and 4 for recruitment of Assistant Electrical Inspectors in the Department of Electrical Inspectorate, saw a large number of candidates failing to turn up  for the exam.

Only 54 of the 367 candidates appeared for the compulsory Kannada exam held on June 3, while only 419 of the 811 candidates appeared for the first paper held in the morning session on June 4 and 415 candidates out of the 811 appeared for the second paper held in the afternoon session. This means that only half of the candidates appeared for the exam, which is not the case in other KPSC exams, where candidates appear almost  in full strength.

The large percentage of absentees for Assistant Electrical Inspector posts written exam goes to show that a good number of candidates are disinclined to take up jobs in the Electrical Department.
