‘Hannele-Chigurele’ music programme on Dec. 11

Speech, music contests for elderly & children

Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Swaranjali’, a team of like-minded people, has organised a music programme titled ‘Hannele-Chigurele’ at MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall in J.K. Grounds on Dec. 11 at 4.30 pm.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here, Swaranjali Head and K.R. Hospital Surgeon Dr. Raghuveer said that noted educationist and orator Dr. Gururaj Karajagi and humorist and retired Kannada Professor M. Krishnegowda will be the chief guests on the occasion.

As a prelude, a speech contest has been organised for senior citizens (above 60 years) and children (below 14 years). Participants must send a 3-min video clip of them speaking on the topic ‘Hiriya chetanarige putta makkalu haagu putta makkalige hiriya chetanara avashyakate, anivaryate mattu doreyadiddaga kaduva anischitate’ (Need of senior citizens to children and vice-versa; The uncertainty they face when they are apart).

Children must send entries to WhatsApp number: 80951-80174 while senior citizens must send to 80951-80329 before Nov. 15 along with their Aadhaar card and personal details. There will be no entry fee for the contest.

Also, a music competition for senior citizens will be held at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city on Nov. 13 at 10 am.

Participants must sing for four minutes without any background karaoke or instrument music. Any language songs can be sung. Participants may register their names on spot or send details to WhatsApp number: 99168-30019 or 63603-69624.

Prizes will be distributed on Dec. 11 at ‘Hannele-Chigurele’ programme and best two singers will be allowed to perform as background singers on that day.
