Mysuru: Hanuma Jayanti was celebrated at all Anjaneyaswamy temples in city this morning. Homa, havana, abhisheka and special pujas were held at Anjaneyaswamy temples in Gokulam, Kuvempunagar, Hebbal, Basaveshwaranagar, on Ramanuja road, Tyagaraja road, Narayana Shastri road, Irwin road, at Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple near Palace, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram and other places.
A colourful procession ‘Shobha Yatre’ was taken out in city under the aegis of Maruthi Temple Trust in Gangothri Layout. The procession carrying an idol of Anjaneyaswamy on a decorated vehicle commenced from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple with MLA S.A. Ramdas offering puja to Nandi Dwaja. Many folk troupes were in attendance presenting attractive dances to the rhythmic beats of drums. The procession passed through Clock Tower, Ashoka Road, Sayyaji Rao Road, Devaraj Urs Road and Ramaswamy Circle before culminating at Maruthi temple in Gangothri Layout.
City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna, former Corporator Nandish Preetham, Nagalakshmi Shankaralingegowda and others were present.
