Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the Hindu Jagarana Vedike for fomenting trouble in Srirangapatna in the name of ‘Hanumamaala Mahotsava,’ the SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) has urged the Police and local authorities to take action against the Vedike.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan in city on Saturday, SDPI State President Abdul Majeed said that the Vedike activists have made certain claims which has raised fears among minorities over the safety of a place of worship.
He further said that his party wanted the Police to register a case on charges of ‘inflammatory’ statements of the Vedike members.
Holding the Government responsible for the helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu in which the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others died, Majeed demanded resignation of the Defence Minister.
SDPI leaders Mohammad Shafiullah, Rafath Khan, S. Swamy and others were present at the press meet.
