Sir,
I would like to share with readers and the authorities my harrowing experience at the parking lot of the Mysuru Sub-Urban Bus Stand.
Recently, I had to park my two-wheeler in the basement of the Sub-Urban Bus Stand, in a facility named ‘Bhairava Parking,’ if I’m not mistaken. As I took my bike down the ramp, I was appalled by the condition of the area.
There were no lights, making it extremely difficult for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. The parking lot was nearly full, with barely enough space left for 3-4 more two-wheelers.
Shockingly, there was not a single staff member to assist or guide vehicle owners.
After a distressing 10 minutes, I somehow managed to find a spot to park. The place was also damp and the air was heavy with the smell of leaking petrol.
The worst part came the next day when I returned to retrieve my bike, only to discover that it was nowhere near where I had parked it. When I approached the in-charge person, he rudely brushed me off, saying he didn’t know anything about it.
His attitude was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful — not just to me, but to several other people, including senior citizens, who were visibly upset by his behaviour.
Eventually, I found my vehicle tightly sandwiched between two other bikes, with yet another vehicle placed diagonally across it. It was nearly impossible to take it out. With no assistance and poor lighting, I was forced to spend another 30 minutes shifting bikes around just to free mine.
I would like to ask the KSRTC authorities: What exactly are we paying the parking fees for? I have never seen such pathetic parking management, not even at free parking zones.
I strongly urge the KSRTC authorities to revoke the current parking tender or take strict and appropriate action against this facility. Commuters deserve a smooth and safe parking experience, not one filled with inconvenience, neglect and hostility.
