Hasanamba temple opens door today

Adherence to dress code must; separate queue arrangements made for hassle-free darshan of deity

Hassan, Oct. 9- As the doors of Hasanamba Temple in the town were opened today, to mark the beginning of annual Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava, the District Administration has laid down certain strictures including a dress code, to ensure adherence to a decorum during the religious festival.

Devotees can have darshan of the deity from tomorrow (Oct. 10), as the temple will remain open 24×7, till Oct. 22. The devotees should be dressed in traditional outfits and separate timings and queues have been arranged for the VIP ticket holders, special darshan ticket holders and dharma darshana (free entry), said DC K.S. Lathakumari.

Addressing media persons, the DC said, two separate rows of barricades have been arranged for dharma darshana and special darshan ticket holders and another row for the VIPs who are bound by protocol during the visit.

Transport Minister R. Ramalinga Reddy, who also holds Muzrai portfolio, said an estimated over 25 lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple, exceeding the total number of devotees who had descended on the town during corresponding year in 2024, counted at about 20 lakh. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and several other Ministers will be visiting the temple on Oct. 15.

An average of 6,000 devotees will be having darshan in one hour and the total number of devotee footfalls per day can be counted at about 1.5 lakh and odd, with the related arrangements in place. Direct access for the darshan of deity will be provided to those devotees aged about 80 years and physically disabled persons. While VIP and VVIP passes have been cancelled, besides making a few modifications in protocol-bound darshan, added Reddy.

For the first time, Janapada Jatra Mahotsava, Expo, Dog Show, Aahara Mela, Flower Show, tour package & Heli Tourism by Tourism Dept., have been organised as part of this Jatra Mahotsava, explained Reddy, detailing about arrangements made by the District Administration.
