Hassan College students stage protest, demand announcement of exam results

Mysore/Mysuru: Urging the University of Mysore authorities for announcement of first and second semester exam (2020-21) results of B.A. degree course and to correct errors in marks cards, students  of Hassan Government First Grade College for Women, under the banner of AIDSO, staged a demonstration in front of Crawford Hall in Mysuru yesterday.

Addressing the protestors, AIDSO District President Subash Bettadakoppa said “The first and second semester exams (2020-21) of Arts students of Hassan Government First Grade College for Women, which comes under the jurisdiction of the University of Mysore has not yet been announced. Also, the Physical Education subject which was supposed to be introduced in first semester, has been introduced in the sixth semester, which is not correct.”

This apart, the internal assessment marks of 23 sixth semester students in the subject ‘Introduction to Electronic Media’ of Journalism course has not been published. This has resulted in the students losing 20 marks, Subash said adding that the apathetic attitude of the University authorities has been hurting the students who want to pursue Post-Graduate courses. He also urged to correct the errors and lapses which have crept in the marks cards issued to students.

The protestors later submitted a memorandum to the UoM Registrar Prof. Mahadevan, who visited the protesting students.

AIDSO office-bearers Nitin, Varsha, Ambika, Lavanya, Kavya, Chandana, Dhanalakshmi, Lekhana, Anushri and others took part in the dharna.
